Hesham Wahby is a Co-Founder and CEO of Innoventures. He is responsible for the company's strategy and relationships, access to ventures, and coaching entrepreneurs. Through Innoventures, Hesham has also co-founded Ideaspace, an innovation space for innovators and entrepreneurs, and hosts a podcast on innovation and creativity called Radio El-Afkar. He has 16 years of industry experience, focusing on technology and entrepreneurial ventures, and with a background in strategy, business development, product design, electronics and software. He has also been involved in economic development initiatives through the IEEE and Global Entrepreneurship Week. Hesham holds an MBA in Entrepreneurial and Strategic Management from the Wharton School, as well as a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Cairo University.

Munaf Emam is a Partner and the COO of Innoventures. Munaf is a British ex pat living and working in Egypt for the last 9 years. Formerly he was CEO and Co-Founder of Total Access Group, an E-Commerce and E-payment platform linked to Network Marketing. Prior to this, he had a 13-year association with Avon Cosmetics Inc, a Fortune 500 Company, working on several senior executive assignments throughout Europe, America and Africa. He successfully led, managed and developed Avon businesses in South Africa and Egypt to generate in excess of $100m in revenues. He has also held senior management roles in multinational companies in Retail and Hospitality. Munaf brings a wealth of knowledge and experience on Business Strategy, Organizational Development, People Management, Business Processes, Crisis Management, Business Growth & Financial Management.
Chief Investment Officer
Amro Sadek is the Vice Chairman of Intercap Capital. He has more than 20 years of progressively responsible experience in the areas of investment, private equity, retail development and business development in large multinational and regional institutions. He has worked with Banque Indosuez in France and the UK, Americana Group (part of Al Kharafi Group of Kuwait), and Beltone Private Equity. Amro has also directly advised organizations such as National Bank of Egypt London, IT Ventures Investment Fund, Egyptian Ministry of Investment on various projects through the last 20 years.
Rafik Dalala is currently the Head of Investment Banking at Intercap Capital. He was previously Senior Director with Abraaj Capital and Egypt Country Manager for Abraaj’s Kantara Private Equity Fund. Rafik joined Abraaj from Societe Generale Asset Management where he oversaw the establishing and launching of the Cairo office for SGAM’s Private Equity Group. Besides serving as a member of the Investment Committees, Rafik duties included sourcing, structuring, valuation, negotiating and leading transactions for these PE Funds in Egypt. Dalala has 10 years of experience in Investment Management & Private Equity and 15 years of experience in Investment Banking specifically in private market M&A in North America & the Middle East. He holds an M.B.A in Finance from McGill University and a BSc. Degree in Chemical Engineering from Cairo University. He is also a CBV (Chartered Business Valuator) with professional accreditation to practice in Canada and the USA.
Ahmed Mikkawi is Co-Founder and mentor at Innoventures. His responsibility encompasses investor relations and other partnerships, financial planning and review, as well as coaching start-ups developing their business plans. His location in London provides access to a broader spectrum of partners, and positions our portfolio companies in global capital markets. Ahmed has a 10-year background in the technology, media and telecom industry, including previous roles at Ericsson and Alcatel in a sales and tendering capacity. He is also heavily involved in economic development in Egypt and the Middle East, centered around entrepreneurship and linking industry with academia, through role as GOLD Chairman for the IEEE in Egypt, from 2005 through 2009. Ahmed is currently pursuing an MBA from London Business School. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Electronics Engineering from Cairo University and a Master of Science in Management of Technology from Nile University.
Sameh Shaheen is Co-Founder of Innoventures. Based in Cairo, his deep business management expertise, and 14 years in the technology industry, are valuable resources for maintaining the business support center, coaching entrepreneurs, and general operational issues. Sameh is also the Managing Director and Founder of Scenario Design Services, a consulting firm and one of Innoventures’ portfolio companies, providing solutions and unique services in the specialization of IC design & EDA to clients across the globe. Sameh worked as a Senior Digital Designer at Infineon Technologies in Munich, from 2001 to 2004, where he contributed in the project management, planning and design of cryptography modules and memory products. He was announced the Best Employee in Mentor Graphics Egypt in 2000.
Ashraf El-Sharkawy is a Co-Founder of Innoventures. Ashraf also previously co-founded two companies, Scenario Design Services, and Nile Egypt for Animal Feeds. In addition, his main location in Germany provides access to a wider range of entrepreneurs and strategic partners. Ashraf previously held the position of Global Head of Marketing and Communication at Allianz Global Corporate and Specialty, the industrial insurance arm of Allianz Holding Company, one of the biggest financial services provider in the world. He was responsible for internal and external communication, strategic marketing and market research. He also held positions at IBM and at a Internet Start-Up called portax.com. He holds a degree in International Business from FH Reutlingen, one of the leading business schools in Germany.
